Our Story

After going through a divorce, I relocated to the Greenville–Spartanburg area and moved into an apartment. It had washer and dryer hookups—but no machines. I was on my own, money was tight, and even buying used equipment wasn’t an option. So I turned to the laundromat.

It wasn’t just expensive—it was exhausting. Lugging heavy loads in and out, waiting for machines, burning hours of my time—it felt like another burden when I already had enough on my plate.

I remember thinking: If only I could rent a washer and dryer for just a year…
That thought never left me.

So I built the solution I wish I had. Upstate Appliance Rentals was born from that frustration—but also from a desire to help people who find themselves in the same spot. Whether you’re starting fresh, in transition, or just trying to keep up—we’re here to make life easier, one load at a time.

Our Mission

At Upstate Appliance Rentals, our mission is to redefine appliance rental with dignity, understanding, and genuine care. We believe everyone deserves access to dependable appliances—without credit checks, late fees, or judgment. We started with a U-Haul and a dream, fixing up used machines and helping renters get what they needed with no hassle. Today, we’re a growing team rooted in the same values: people over profit. We treat every customer like a neighbor, and when life happens, we listen—not penalize. No one should struggle alone over something as basic as clean clothes. That’s why we built our business around flexibility, compassion, and real communication. Our goal isn’t just to drop off equipment—it’s to make life easier for working families, new renters, and anyone tired of being told “no.” We’re proud to serve our community with a new kind of rental experience: one that’s built on trust.
